Congratulations to our Figure Dancers and Musicians who did so well in the North Kerry Hurling Board Scór na bpáistí competition in Lixnaw on the 1st of March 2015.
The delicious smell of pancakes wafted through the corridors of Sliabh a’ Mhadra on Pancake Tuesday. Mr. O’Connor’s 5th and 6th classes, with their pancake makers, churned out pancakes with a variety of toppings for all to enjoy. They were scrumptious!
Continuing a great tradition of quiz in our school, six teams from Sliabh a’Mhadra took part in this year’s Clanmaurice Credit Union Quiz competition. Three in the U11 category and three in the U13 category. Close to 40 teams representing schools all over the Clanmaurice area took part on the 1st of February and it was a hard fought competition. The children were quizzed on everything from General knowledge to sport and history.
Sliabh a’ Mhadra won both the U11 and U13 categories and also won third place in both – a remarkable achievement!
Football fever gripped the school in the run up to the All-Ireland Final in September and pupils and staff were ecstatic when Kieran Donaghy brought the Sam Maguire Cup to our school in early October. It was an exciting day as “Star” spoke to the pupils and posed for photographs. Thanks to Ballyduff GAA who provided treats for the children.
