Today Giles O’ Grady presented a workshop to our 6th class pupils on how to be a ‘Fundamental Movement Coach.’ The skill being focused on was ‘balance.’
Fundamental movement skills are very important in the physical development of a child. Having a firm grasp of the fundamental movement skills and being physically literate leads a child to enjoy a long life of physical activity.
Following the workshop, the 6th class got to put their coaching skills into practice by working with the junior and senior infants. It was a great learning experience for all.

Christmas storytime was a very special event in the infant classroom today when 6th class came to visit. Mr. O’ Connor had set a task for his 6th class pupils to write a Christmas themed story aimed at a young audience and today 6th class got to read their stories to very receptive and excited Junior and Senior infants. The 6th class captivated their young audience with their lovely Christmas stories and it was a magical experience for all. Well done to 6th class for such a great effort!
