We applied to take part in The Kingdom Schools Big Reading Challenge. It was sponsored by Listowel Writer’s Week. We were successful and received a selection of books for the school. 2nd to 6th class read some of the books and took on the second part of the Big Reading Challenge………(a) Write book reviews (b) Design book covers (c) Unravel the book quiz.
All entries were returned before March 31st.

Well done to everyone who took part in the Parents’ Association Annual Sponsored Walk. Thank you to all those who have already returned their sponsorship cards. Remember there are spot prizes for any full cards! First prize is a €50 Smyths voucher and there are Easter hampers for 2nd and 3rd.

It was a cold and wet St. Patrick’s Day in Ballyduff however the bad weather did not dampen the spirits of our pupils who represented our school in the parade. ‘Proud to be Irish’ was our theme this year and we all marched proudly to the beautiful music played by our school band. Thank you to Conor Duignan, Sandra Carey, Tracy Moriarty, James Daly and John Enright who carried our school banner. Many thanks to William Quinlan for transporting the Junior Infants in his truck and to Ciara Moriarty and Siobhán Enright who decorated it. Your help was very much appreciated.

So proud of our figure dancers who came 2nd in the County Final of Scór na bPáistí which was held in Foilmore on Sunday last. They were brilliant and such a credit to our school. Well done girls!
