WOW day 2015
Children from Green-Schools all over Ireland show their support for a greener, healthier environment by taking part in Walk to School Week. This year we had our first WOW day, ‘Walk on Wednesday’, on the 13th May. Children from junior infants to 6th class were dropped off at the cross or McHales timber yard and walked to school from there.
Cycling Safety School Programme
Children from 3rd to 5th class took part in the Safer Cycling School Programme delivered by Blue Gate Sports on the 12th, 13th and 14th May. The children got an opportunity to develop basic bicycle control skills, learn the key points of cycling on our roads and become more confident in using their bicycles. It was a very active and enjoyable experience for all.
Microsoft Paint Workshop
An educational workshop about ‘Illustrating with Microsoft Paint’ was delivered by Ian Jackson to classes 4th to 6th on the 28th April. Ian is the illustrator of a series of educational books for children using the free computer programme Microsoft Paint. After a presentation of how to use ‘Paint’, the children illustrated a children’s story and then created a Powerpoint slideshow. It was a most enjoyable and informative workshop.

Skipathon 2015
All children took part in our annual Skipathon and had a most enjoyable and active week. Skipathon is a combined fundraising and health promotion activity run by the Irish Heart Foundation. This year we raised a total of €175.
Basketball Blitz 2015
Well done to Ms. Wren and our girls from 3rd to 6th classes who took part in the Annual Basketball Blitz in Causeway Comprehensive School in May. Great fun was had by all!
