Engineers week was a very enthusiastic and productive week in Sliabh a’ Mhadra. It was an opportunity for children, teachers and parents to explore the fun world of engineering. Many thanks to Dairymaster for welcoming our 5th and 6th class pupils and for the lovely goodies they got to bring home!
An engineering competition was run in the school for children from 3rd to 6th. Children could make a boat, a plane, a bridge or a rocket. It was a huge success and culminated in a showcase of all creations for everyone to view. It was lovely to have so many parents come and visit the showcase as well.
Each participant had to talk about their design and was awarded a certificate for their efforts. A trophy was presented to the winner in each class but it was Alex Freemantle from 6th class, with a brilliantly designed suspension bridge, that scooped the overall prize. Well done everyone!
