Graduation 2020

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, it was the 9th of July before the Class of 2020 finally got to have their Graduation! In order that social distancing could be maintained, it was held outdoors and thankfully the weather held up. It was fantastic to see everyone again.

6th class got to wear their uniforms and walk through the school for one last time. Presentations were made to each student on behalf of the School and the Parents’ Association. A presentation from 6th class was made to Mrs. Goulding who taught them in Junior Infants and again in 6th class. Gifts of appreciation were also presented to Mr. O’ Connor and Mrs. O’ Dwyer.

Well done to our music group – Sean Slattery, Sarah Carroll, Siún Toomey, Kate Fealy and Mary Kate O’ Neill for entertaining us with some great Irish music and to Ellie Boyle for an outstanding rendition of The Parting Glass.

Many thanks to everyone who was involved in making the Graduation a very special event for our 6^th class students. Thank you to Fr. Brendan for the lovely prayer service, to Muiris Ó Laoire who spoke beautifully on behalf of the Board of Management, to Stella Fealy for the gorgeous cupcakes which she specially made for the occasion, to our wonderful Parents’ Association for all their efforts behind the scenes, to Anthony Kearney who captured the moments on camera and to Anthony O’ Carroll who filmed the release of balloons with his drone.

Finally, thank you to our dedicated staff members who helped to guide, nurture and foster a love of learning in our 6^th class students throughout their eight years in Sliabh a’ Mhadra. We are confident these great young people are ready to face the challenges of the next chapter in their education. We wish them the very best of luck! Beir bua agus beannacht!
