Aistear got underway in the Junior Infant/Senior Infant and First Classes on Monday under our theme for the fortnight “Home”. The children had a wonderful time learning through play. The tent and kitchen were a huge hit and all the new toys and games are so nice to play with! Children were constructing different types of houses using blocks/lego and other materials. We worked on our fine motor skills with playdoh and cutting tasks. Children also made some interesting items for a house out of Junk Art!
Thank you to all the parents who sent in items that we can use for Aistear. If you think you have anything at home that might be of use and your children no longer need, please consider donating it to the school. We are so lucky to have purchased some equipment for Aistear using the funds raised from our “Cash for Clobber” clothing collection. Remember our next collection is on the 24th of October! Thank you for your support!

Photos from the recent visit of the Causeway Hurlers who won the County Championship for the first time in 21 years. They were accompanied by Noel O’Connor, Chairman of the Causeway Hurling Club and Muiris Delaney, Captain of the victorious team.

We were also delighted to welcome members of the Kerry Camogie Team who won the All-Ireland Junior Camogie Final in Croke Park on 8th September, 2019. It is Kerry’s first All-Ireland Camogie title. The Captain of the Kerry Camogie Team, Niamh Leen, with team mate Juliann O’Keeffe brought the All-Ireland Junior Camogie Cup to the school.
